About Job Compass

Updated 2026-10-27

Job Compass is a free, open-source library of interview experiences from the U.S. job market. Every interview report is recorded in the same structure (company, role, level, interview rounds and outcome) and sits alongside company profiles, job postings and career guides.

Who builds it

Job Compass is built and maintained by the Atomeocean team, with contributions from the community. Atomeocean is a U.S. technology company founded in 2021 and based in New York, NY.

How content is made

1. Collect

Interview reports come from two places: experiences that contributors submit directly, and posts shared publicly on community forums. Reposted reports link back to the original post and are labeled as reposts.

2. Structure

Every report has a matching data file that records the company, role, level, job type, how the candidate applied, each interview round and the outcome. Because every report uses the same fields, reports can be compared across companies.

3. Review

All changes are proposed as pull requests in the public GitHub repository. A maintainer reviews and approves each pull request before it is merged.

4. Publish and maintain

Automated checks verify the data files and build the site for every pull request. Each article shows when it was last updated, and the full history of every page is public on GitHub.

Privacy

Interview reports describe hiring processes, not people. Contributors are asked not to include anyone's real name, contact details or other non-public personal information. See the Privacy Policy for how visitor information is handled.

Languages

Most content is written in Simplified Chinese for Chinese-speaking professionals in the United States. Selected guides are available in English:

Corrections and removal requests

If something is inaccurate, or you would like content removed (for example, a post you wrote that was reposted here), email customer@atomeocean.com with the page URL, or open an issue on GitHub. Every request is reviewed.
