Job Description
We are looking for an entry-level Financial Risk Specialist who will work under close supervision to support credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk monitoring activities. You will assist senior team members in producing recurring risk reports, tracking key risk indicators (KRIs) against thresholds, and surfacing simple anomalies to your manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports (credit exposure, liquidity position, control breaches).
- Pull and reconcile risk data from internal systems, spreadsheets, and vendor feeds.
- Support the control testing process by completing standard test scripts and documenting evidence.
- Help maintain risk registers, issue logs, and key risk indicator (KRI) trackers.
- Monitor exception queues and escalate breaches of policy limits to senior risk staff.
- Respond to routine questions from business stakeholders about risk policies, limits, and reporting.
- Participate in cross-functional risk projects in a support capacity, learning standard risk-management workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
- No prior work experience required.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for routine data organization and report preparation.
- Ability to learn and use standard risk and finance tools with guidance (e.g., familiarity with ERP/GL systems or BI tools such as Tableau/Power BI is helpful but not required).
- Basic problem-solving ability and interest in supporting risk-analysis tasks under supervision.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with team members in a remote work environment.
Preferred Skills
- Coursework or internship experience in risk management, credit analysis, audit, or compliance.
- Written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin.
- Exposure to introductory SQL or to BI dashboarding tools.
- Familiarity with basic statistical or probability concepts (distributions, hypothesis testing).
Preferred But Not Required
All preferred qualifications are optional and are not minimum requirements for the position.
These preferred skills do not increase the complexity of the offered position and do not elevate the wage level.
The entry-level employee will work under close supervision, and all advanced tasks will be assigned only to senior staff.
Additional Information
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
- Flexible working hours and a fully remote work environment.
- A collaborative and innovative team culture.
